Terms of use
These terms explain what ScamBro does, what it deliberately does not promise, and what we each agree to. We have kept them in plain English on purpose.
Last updated 6 September 2026
The most important thing on this page
ScamBro is a second opinion, not a guarantee. We run automated checks that look for patterns commonly found in scam messages. Those checks can miss a scam completely, and they can raise concerns about a message that turns out to be perfectly genuine. Scammers change their methods constantly, and no automated check keeps up with all of them.
The decision is always yours. Our verdicts, wording and suggested next steps are information to help you think. They are not instructions you must follow, and not something to rely on by itself. If a message concerns you, check it independently: ring your bank on the number printed on your card, sign in through an app or address you already know, or speak to someone you trust. Never use a phone number, link or address taken from the message you are worried about.
We do not give professional advice. Nothing ScamBro says is financial, legal, tax or other professional advice. We are not a bank, an insurer, a regulator or a law-enforcement body.
Who we are
ScamBro is operated by Astrelisai Ltd. Our registered address will be published here before public launch. You can reach us at hello@scambro.com.
What the service does
- The free check reads a message you paste in and gives you a verdict, the warning signs it found, and one suggested next step.
- Full protection gives you a shared forwarding address that accepts mail from your approved email, keeps a record of your checks, and can alert one trusted contact you have chosen when a message looks seriously wrong.
- We never open links in a message, never sign in to anything on your behalf, and never move money.
What we ask of you
- Use ScamBro for your own messages, or for messages someone has asked you to check for them.
- Do not use it to test, refine or build scam messages.
- Do not try to overload the service, work around usage limits, or reach other people’s data.
- Only add a trusted contact who has agreed to it. They must confirm by email before we alert them.
- You must be 18 or over to hold an account.
Beta service
ScamBro is in private beta. Features may change, break or be withdrawn, usage limits may change, and we may pause the service. We will tell account holders about significant changes by email.
Price and cancelling
- The free check is free, with a daily limit shown on the page.
- Member beta access includes 50 checks per month. Abuse-prevention limits also apply.
- Billing is not switched on yet. While it is off, full protection costs nothing and no card details are taken.
- Any paid service will require a separate choice to subscribe after we explain its price and terms. Joining the beta does not authorise future charges.
If something goes wrong
We do our best to keep ScamBro accurate and available, but we do not promise it will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that any check will be correct. To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for losses arising from a decision you made after using ScamBro, from a scam it failed to identify, or from a genuine message it wrongly flagged.
Nothing in these terms limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that cannot lawfully be excluded. If you are a consumer, your legal rights are not affected by anything here.
If you think you have been scammed
Contact your bank straight away using the number on your card or statement. In England, Wales and Northern Ireland, report it to Action Fraud on 0300 123 2040 or at actionfraud.police.uk. In Scotland, call Police Scotland on 101. If you are in immediate danger, call 999. Our guides set out the steps in more detail.
Ending your account
You can stop using ScamBro at any time and ask us to delete your account by emailing hello@scambro.com. We may suspend or close an account that breaks these terms or puts the service or other people at risk.
Changes, and the law that applies
We may update these terms. The date at the top shows when they last changed, and we will tell account holders about significant changes. These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have jurisdiction. If you live elsewhere in the UK, you keep the protection of your local consumer law.
How we handle your information is set out in our privacy policy.
